Who can get free lifetime travel in London?

The TfL Freedom Pass gives unlimited free travel on buses, the Tube, DLR, Trams, Overground, and the Elizabeth line.

There are two types:

  • Older Person’s Freedom Pass – for London residents of state pension age (66+). Valid after 9am on weekdays and all day on weekends/bank holidays.

  • Disabled Person’s Freedom Pass – for London residents with eligible disabilities, valid anytime.

Qualifying disabilities include blindness, severe deafness, no speech, serious mobility issues, loss of both arms, certain learning disabilities, or medical conditions that prevent driving.

In rare cases, boroughs may also issue passes outside these categories.
