About me

Hey, this is me!

Hi there! I’m Rohan Pawar—a filmmaker, content creator, photographer, and someone who never gives up, no matter the odds. But let’s take a step back and go on a little journey through my life.

Let’s rewind to where it all Started!

In 2008, I landed in the UK from India with just £200 and a heart full of dreams. It wasn’t an easy start, but each challenge taught me the value of perseverance and gratitude. I started off in retail, and over time, I built my own businesses. For years, I juggled hard work with a relentless curiosity to grow, adapt, and explore life’s possibilities.

Then, in 2019, I made a life-changing decision. I closed my retail shops to reflect on what truly made me happy. Little did I know, the world was about to change dramatically.

The bottom left photo features a man standing behind a podium with a London Film Academy sign. The photo on the right depicts ten people sitting and standing on steps outside a building, holding a London Film Academy sign, smiling and posing for the camera.

My pandemic journey: discovering the filmmaker in me.

When the lockdown hit, like many of us, I found myself in uncharted territory. But instead of slowing down, I saw it as an opportunity. During this time, I joined the prestigious London Film Academy, where I immersed myself in the art of filmmaking.

This wasn’t just about learning to hold a camera or edit videos; it was about understanding the nuances of framing a story, evoking emotions, and connecting with an audience on a deeper level. My experience at the film academy honed my creative instincts and gave me the confidence to produce meaningful content that stands out in today’s digital world. I even created a few short films that gave me immense pride and joy, proving that dreams can start small, no matter how big it will be.

In December 2020, I took a leap of faith and uploaded my very first YouTube video. From there, the journey has been incredible! Whether it’s filming stunning visuals or sharing London’s best-kept secrets, I’ve loved every second of creating and connecting with an amazing audience.

On Instagram, you can find me at @kite.today, where I showcase hidden gems and the vibrant life of London. It’s a platform close to my heart because it allows me to share my love for storytelling with people like you.

Cricket, cats, and countryside adventures.

When I’m not filming, I’m living life to the fullest. I’ve been playing professional cricket since 2015, and as the captain of Newham Cricket Club, I’ve even been featured in the newspapers for our matches! I enjoy riding my bike, playing chess, and working out and these are some of my hobbies that I truly love doing them as much as I love spending time with my cat, who keeps me on my toes (and sometimes steals the spotlight).

Even during lockdown, I kept myself busy with backyard cricket drills, exploring the countryside, and learning new recipes. Those months taught me the value of resilience and the joy of small victories, like losing 7kg and gaining strength—not just physically, but mentally too.
