Goodwood 2027 from London: Festival of Speed & Revival Tickets, Dates & Travel Guide
If cars, racing and classic motorsport are your thing, there are two dates worth putting in your 2027 calendar now.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed returns in July, followed by the Goodwood Revival in September. And tickets for the 2027 events are already moving through their priority-sale stages, with general-public sales coming up.
But there is one important thing to clear up first.
Goodwood is not in London.
It is in West Sussex, near Chichester, but it is close enough to make a realistic day trip or weekend trip from London. Goodwood even provides travel information specifically for visitors coming from the capital, including train routes to Chichester and event shuttle buses.
So if you've seen Goodwood's latest “Mark Your Calendars” post and are wondering what exactly is happening, here's everything you need to know about the 2027 Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, including dates, ticket-sale information, location, what to expect and how to get there from London.
Is Goodwood in London?
No.
Goodwood is an estate in West Sussex, close to the city of Chichester.
The two major events take place at different parts of the Goodwood Estate:
Festival of Speed: Goodwood House, Kennel Hill, Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 0PX
Goodwood Revival: Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 0PH
So this isn't a London event in the same way as something taking place at Wembley, ExCeL or central London.
However, it makes sense for LondonYaar because Goodwood is a practical motorsport trip from London, particularly if you travel by train.
Goodwood says the nearest railway station is Chichester, with the journey from London taking approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Trains are available from London Waterloo, usually changing at Havant, while regular direct services also run from London Victoria.
What are the two Goodwood events in 2027?
There are two major Goodwood motorsport weekends to know about.
Goodwood Festival of Speed
15–18 July 2027
The Festival of Speed is the big summer celebration of cars and motorsport, taking place around Goodwood House.
Goodwood describes it as a four-day event bringing together cars, drivers and motorsport royalty, with the famous Hillclimb at the centre of the experience.
Goodwood Revival
17–19 September 2027
The Revival is the autumn event, held at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Rather than simply being another race weekend, it recreates the atmosphere of the circuit's golden era, with historic racing, classic cars, period fashion and entertainment. Goodwood describes it as an immersive celebration of vintage cars and fashion, taking visitors back to the golden age of motor racing.
The dates are important because you may see conflicting information online. Goodwood's dedicated 2027 Revival ticket page and its official 2027 announcement both give the dates as 17–19 September 2027, so those are the dates used here.
When do Goodwood 2027 tickets go on sale?
This is where the Instagram post you shared becomes particularly useful.
The official Goodwood announcement shown in the post gives the following ticket-sale schedule:
Saturday 31 October 2026
GRRC Members
Monday 2 November 2026
GRRC Fellowship members
Monday 9 November 2026
General public
The important distinction is that these dates are from Goodwood's ticket-sale announcement, while Goodwood's current event webpages generally describe the public sale as taking place later in 2026. The Festival of Speed page confirms general sale in November, and the Revival page says tickets will be back on sale later in the year.
So if you're reading this article before 9 November 2026, 9 November is the general-public date shown in the official Goodwood announcement you shared.
If you're reading it later, check the official ticket page before purchasing because ticket availability and sale windows can change.
Goodwood Festival of Speed tickets
What is the Goodwood Festival of Speed?
The Festival of Speed is much more than a traditional motor race.
First staged in 1993, it has grown into one of the UK's biggest celebrations of motoring and motorsport. Goodwood describes it as the world's largest automotive garden party, with hundreds of cars and motorcycles taking part across different eras of motoring and motorsport.
The centrepiece is the famous Goodwood Hillclimb.
Cars race up the hill in front of spectators, while the wider event includes displays, manufacturer areas, historic racing machinery, supercars, famous drivers and other automotive experiences.
Goodwood's programme can change from year to year, so it is too early to claim a complete 2027 line-up.
What is already confirmed is the 15–18 July 2027 date and the return of the four-day Festival of Speed.
What can you expect at Festival of Speed?
The exact 2027 programme will be revealed closer to the event, but Goodwood's established Festival of Speed format includes attractions such as:
The famous Hillclimb
Historic racing cars
Modern performance and racing cars
Supercars
Formula 1 machinery
Manufacturer displays
Famous drivers and motorsport personalities
The Supercar Paddock
F1 Pit Lane
Future Lab
Forest Rally Stage
Supercar Run
Drivers' Club
Cartier Style et Luxe
These are examples of the established Festival of Speed programme rather than a claim that every individual feature has already been confirmed for 2027. Goodwood's latest information says more plans for the 2027 event will be announced as the year approaches.
That distinction matters when you're planning this far ahead.
What is Goodwood Revival?
If Festival of Speed is the big modern celebration of motoring and motorsport, Revival is the nostalgic one.
Goodwood Revival is held at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, the historic circuit that hosted racing from the late 1940s through the 1960s.
The event's entire atmosphere is built around that period.
You will see historic racing cars on the circuit, vintage-inspired clothing, classic vehicles, period entertainment and an enormous collection of people dressing for the occasion.
Goodwood describes the Revival as an immersive celebration of vintage cars and fashion that takes visitors back to the golden age of motor racing, from 1948 to 1966.
And you don't have to be a hardcore motorsport fan to appreciate it.
The fashion, cars, photography opportunities and atmosphere are a huge part of the experience.
The Revival Car Show is an attraction by itself
One of the things that makes Revival particularly interesting is the Revival Car Show.
Goodwood says roughly 6,000+ tax-exempt machines can be found there, making it one of the highlights for visitors who simply love classic cars.
So even if you aren't interested in sitting beside the track for hours watching every race, you can spend a considerable amount of time wandering around the car show and taking in the vehicles.
For photographers, it can be particularly good.
You have historic racing cars on track, classic cars around the venue and thousands of visitors embracing the period theme.
Festival of Speed or Revival: which should you choose?
This really depends on what you want from the trip.
Choose Festival of Speed if you love:
Modern performance cars
Formula 1
Supercars
Hillclimb action
Motorsport history
New automotive technology
Famous drivers
A huge summer festival atmosphere
Choose Revival if you love:
Classic cars
Historic racing
Vintage fashion
Photography
Automotive history
Period atmosphere
Old-school British culture
A more immersive themed experience
If you're visiting Goodwood for the first time and are primarily interested in cars and racing, Festival of Speed is probably the obvious starting point.
If you want something that feels like stepping into another era, Revival may be the more memorable experience.
How much will Goodwood 2027 tickets cost?
This is one area where I would strongly recommend not trusting old prices you see online.
As of October 2026, Goodwood's current 2027 pages do not provide a definitive general-public price table for the two events.
The Festival of Speed page says tickets will go on general sale in November, while the Revival ticket page says its 2027 tickets will be back on sale later in the year.
So this article deliberately does not give you a made-up 2027 ticket price.
Prices can change between years, and ticket type also matters.
You may have:
General admission
Grandstand options
Hospitality
Other packages
Wait for the official 2027 ticket pages to display the relevant prices before booking.
What is GRRC Fellowship?
You may have noticed another phrase in the Instagram post:
GRRC Fellowship.
GRRC stands for the Goodwood Road Racing Club.
The Fellowship is Goodwood's route into the club for people who want additional access and benefits around its motorsport events.
Goodwood currently lists the Fellowship at £95 per year and says Fellows receive priority access to major event tickets, along with a 10% discount on two admission tickets to Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.
Other benefits include access to the GRRC Pit Stop enclosure, early event entry at Revival and various year-round benefits.
The key point is that Fellowship gives you priority access.
It does not mean that every ticket type is automatically guaranteed.
If you're considering joining purely to attend Goodwood in 2027, check the current terms and benefits before paying for membership.
Can you get to Goodwood from London by train?
Yes and this is probably the most useful information for London readers.
Goodwood recommends travelling to Chichester railway station.
From London, the quickest route is generally:
London Waterloo → Havant → Chichester
Goodwood estimates the journey at approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
There are also regular direct services from London Victoria.
Once you reach Chichester, Goodwood operates a shuttle service between the station and the event.
That makes the trip considerably easier than trying to work out a local bus connection yourself.
For Revival, Goodwood specifically describes the train-and-shuttle combination as one of the easiest ways to arrive and says the shuttle runs between Chichester station and the event gate.
Can Goodwood be done as a day trip from London?
Yes.
For someone travelling from London, Festival of Speed can realistically be a day trip, particularly if you take an early train and use the Goodwood shuttle.
The same is possible for Revival, although you may prefer to stay overnight if you want to enjoy the entire weekend.
The decision really comes down to how much time you want at the event.
For a first visit, I'd personally treat it as a full-day trip rather than trying to squeeze Goodwood into a few hours.
These are large events, and there is plenty to see beyond the headline racing.
What are the Festival of Speed opening times?
Goodwood's current Festival of Speed information lists the following event-day timings:
6:30am - car parks open
7am - gates open
8:30am - Hillclimb action begins
6:30pm - bars close
7pm - event ends
These are the current published Festival of Speed timings and should be checked again closer to July 2027 in case Goodwood changes them.
If you're travelling from London on the day, this is another reason to check your train carefully.
An early start is part of the experience.
Is Goodwood suitable for families?
Yes.
Goodwood's events are designed to be accessible to families, although the exact child-ticket arrangements depend on the event.
For Festival of Speed, Goodwood currently states that children 12 and under require a free child admission ticket, subject to availability, while reduced Young Person tickets are available for ages 13–21. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a valid event ticket.
Revival also offers free tickets for children under 13 and half-price admission for those aged 13–21, according to Goodwood's current Revival information.
Always check the 2027 ticket conditions when booking, as arrangements can change.
Should you put Goodwood on your 2027 calendar?
If you love cars, absolutely.
The Festival of Speed is the one to watch if you want modern and historic motorsport, supercars, famous drivers and the iconic Hillclimb.
The Goodwood Revival is the one to choose if you want classic racing, vintage fashion, historic cars and an atmosphere that feels completely different from an ordinary race weekend.
And if you're starting from London, you don't necessarily need a car or a hotel.
A train to Chichester followed by Goodwood's event shuttle can get you to the action.
For now, the key ticket date from the announcement you shared is:
Monday 9 November 2026 general public sale.
If you're interested in going, put the date in your calendar and check Goodwood's official ticket pages before booking. Priority access and ticket availability can change, and the official pages should always be your final source for prices and remaining tickets.
Goodwood isn't London.
But for a London-based traveller who loves motorsport, it could be one of the most exciting day trips on the 2027 calendar.
