From Motels to Motorcycles: Seligman, Arizona’s Route 66 Magic

Seligman, Arizona, isn’t just a stop on the map—it’s a time capsule brimming with nostalgia, quirky charm, and Americana vibes. If you’re planning a Route 66 road trip, this little town is a must-visit. For us, it wasn’t just a stop; it was a highlight that perfectly captured the essence of America’s iconic Mother Road.

Where Route 66 Comes Alive

Seligman is more than just a charming town; it’s where Route 66 was reborn in Arizona. This western section of the Mother Road is a living, breathing tribute to yesteryear, preserving the magic of the open road. Here, you’ll find the longest remaining stretch of Route 66, running an epic 160 kilometers (100 miles) all the way to Oatman, Arizona.

From the neon signs to the retro diners, every corner of Seligman feels like a page ripped straight out of a mid-20th-century road trip guidebook.

Staying and Dining in True Americana Style

We couldn’t resist spending the night at the Historic Route 66 Motel, a place that oozes retro charm and nostalgia. It felt like stepping back in time, and the vibe was unbeatable.

Dinner was equally memorable at the Roadkill Cafe. Yes, you read that right! Don’t let the name fool you—this place serves up some of the best food on Route 66. The quirky menu and decor make it an experience you won’t forget.

Meeting Legends on the Mother Road

One of the most unexpected highlights of our stop in Seligman was meeting the amazing folks from @2lanelife. They graciously let us pose with their Harley-Davidson motorcycles and shared their inspiring story about “Shaking hands with America” while cruising Route 66.

Hearing their adventures added an extra layer of appreciation for the history and camaraderie that Route 66 embodies.

Why Seligman Stands Out

Seligman is located between Flagstaff and Kingman in Northern Arizona, making it the perfect midpoint stop for any road trip along Route 66. The town is a hub for Route 66 nostalgia, with vintage cars, quirky shops, and vibrant murals that tell the story of the road’s glory days.

Whether you’re a history buff, a road trip enthusiast, or just someone who loves exploring offbeat places, Seligman has something for you.

Don’t Miss Out

If you’re planning a Route 66 adventure, be sure to book your stay —trust me, it’s worth it for a night of retro bliss in this iconic town.
