Go Japan! 2026 is coming to Brands Hatch on Monday 31 August, bringing together Japanese automotive culture, JDM cars, racing, drifting, car clubs, cosplay, food, entertainment and more for a full day at one of Britain's best-known racing circuits.
And there's an especially useful detail for anyone travelling from London without a car:
Go Japan! is providing a free shuttle bus from Swanley Station directly to Brands Hatch.
So you don't necessarily need to drive to experience one of the UK's biggest Japanese car and culture events.

It's essentially a day built around Japanese car culture and the wider world surrounding it.
1. See JDM cars and Japanese car clubs
Obviously, the cars are at the heart of the event.
Go Japan! brings together Japanese performance cars, JDM icons, tuned builds, classics and individual displays, with Japanese car clubs also taking over dedicated areas around Brands Hatch.
There is also the OBSESSION Car Show, where selected Japanese cars compete across different categories, with awards presented during the event.
So whether you're into classic Japanese cars, modern performance builds or heavily modified machines, there should be plenty to explore.
And if you're bringing your own Japanese car, there are separate arrangements for car clubs, OBSESSION and individual displays.
Just remember that a standard admission ticket does not automatically give you permission to display a vehicle. A separate vehicle pass is required.
2. Watch Time Attack racing
This is where Go Japan! becomes considerably more exciting than a static car meet.
The Time Attack Championship returns to Brands Hatch for the sixth round of its 2026 season.
Drivers compete to set the fastest possible lap, with cars ranging from highly tuned road cars to serious competition machinery.
And you're watching them at Brands Hatch rather than seeing the cars sitting behind barriers.

3. Watch the Racing Hondas Championship

The organisers specifically say that the free Swanley shuttle is open to everyone, whether you're arriving in cosplay or simply wearing everyday clothes.
So there is absolutely no need to drive just because you're planning to cosplay.
8. Try the Japanese food
You'll also find food and drink vendors around the venue.
The event's official information says there will be food and drink vendors as well as the circuit café, with Japanese food forming part of the wider Go Japan! experience.

11. Bring the kids
Go Japan! is designed to be family-friendly too.
The event has a Kids Play Area, while Brands Hatch itself has family facilities and areas where families can sit down, eat and take a break from the action.

Children under 13 enter free when accompanied by an adult.
One thing parents should definitely remember is that motorsport can be loud.

How much are Go Japan! 2026 tickets?

Teens and children must be accompanied by an adult.
The organisers recommend booking in advance because the online price is cheaper and it can help avoid queues.
Current online ticket sales are scheduled to close at 4pm on Thursday 27 August, while tickets can also be bought at the gate from 7am on the day.
If you're thinking about going, I'd book ahead rather than leaving it until Monday.
What time does Go Japan! 2026 start?
The current official information gives the event's public opening hours as 9am–6:30pm.
The FAQ also currently states that on- and off-track content runs from 9am to 6:30pm.
Car clubs and traders can arrive earlier, from 7am, but that isn't relevant if you're simply attending as a visitor.
So for a normal visitor, you have a full day to explore the event.
The easiest way to get to Go Japan! from London
Here's the part Londoners will probably appreciate most.
You don't need a car.
Brands Hatch is around six miles from Swanley Station, and the official Go Japan! information confirms regular services to Swanley from London Victoria. On a Bank Holiday Monday, the organisers say there are plenty of services, with a direct journey taking around 30 minutes.
Then comes the really useful bit.
There is a FREE shuttle bus from Swanley Station
Go Japan! is providing a free shuttle bus between Swanley Station and Brands Hatch throughout the day.
You don't need to book it.
You don't need to pay anything.
And it's open to everyone attending the event.
The organisers describe it simply as:
Free. No booking needed. Open to everyone.
Current shuttle timetable
8:30am - Morning shuttle service starts from Swanley to Brands Hatch
12:30pm - Morning service finishes
2:00pm - Shuttle positions at Brands Hatch
2:15pm - Return shuttle service begins
4:30pm - Final shuttle leaves Brands Hatch for Swanley Station
There are no intermediate stops because it is a private charter running directly between Swanley Station and Brands Hatch.
One important thing to remember:
The final shuttle leaves Brands Hatch at 4:30pm.
The event itself runs until 6:30pm, so if you are relying on the shuttle to get back to Swanley, don't stay until closing and assume another bus will appear.
The bus drops visitors outside the Brands Hatch entrance rather than driving into the venue itself. You'll then show or purchase your event ticket and walk inside.
Your London route is therefore:
London Victoria → Swanley → FREE Go Japan! shuttle → Brands Hatch
It's hard to make a major motorsport event outside London much easier for public-transport visitors.
What if you're driving?
Driving is straightforward too.
Brands Hatch is on the A20 near West Kingsdown, around three miles from Junction 3 of the M25, with road connections towards the M20 and M25/M26.
There is free visitor parking, including disabled parking for Blue Badge holders.
If you're simply attending as a visitor, your normal admission ticket and the designated visitor parking are what you need.
If you're displaying a Japanese car, however, remember that a separate vehicle pass is required.
A few things to know before you go
Wear comfortable shoes
Brands Hatch is a large venue and you'll likely spend a lot of the day walking between different areas.
Bring ear protection
Especially if you're bringing children. Racing and demonstration cars can be very loud.
Book your ticket beforehand
Adults currently pay £26 online compared with £30 at the gate, so booking in advance saves money.
Remember the shuttle's final departure
If you're travelling by train, the last free shuttle back to Swanley is currently 4:30pm.
Dogs aren't allowed
The official FAQ says dogs aren't permitted on site, apart from guide dogs.
You can bring your own picnic
BBQs aren't permitted, but the venue says visitors can bring their own picnic and refreshments and use the grassed areas and woods around the venue.

And unlike many events outside London, you don't necessarily need to drive there.
Take the train from London Victoria to Swanley, then use the free Go Japan! shuttle to Brands Hatch.
